The sound of waves and the salt in the air made this wedding truly unforgettable.
The Symphony of the SeaThere is something undeniably magical about a coastal wedding, where the rhythmic sound of the Indian Ocean becomes the soundtrack to your vows. For this intimate celebration in Galle, we focused on the interplay between the rugged texture of the coastline and the softness of the couple's emotions. The salt in the air, the wind catching the veil, and the golden light reflecting off the water created a natural, organic setting that required minimal interference from us. We utilized long focal lengths to keep our distance, allowing the couple to truly be alone in their moment while we captured the intimacy from afar. The result is a film that feels less like a wedding video and more like a visual poem—an ode to their love and the timeless beauty of the Sri Lankan coast. Embracing the ElementsShooting outdoors presents its own challenges, but also immense rewards. The changing light, the unpredictable wind, and the sound of the surf all become characters in the film. We deliberately chose to shoot this entire sequence handheld, allowing the camera to move with the wind and the waves. This adds a kinetic energy to the film, making it feel alive and breathing. Rather than fighting the elements, we embraced them, using the flare of the setting sun and the movement of the palms to enhance the romantic, adventurous spirit of the day. It is a testament to the beauty of letting go and letting nature frame your love story.
