The Aesthetic & The Pre-Shoot: 6 to 12 Months BeforeWith your venue and team locked in, this phase is about bringing your visual identity to life. This is when you will finalize your wardrobe, select your event designer or florist, and begin curating the overall atmosphere of the celebration.
For our couples, this is also the perfect window to schedule your Pre-Shoot. Whether you opt for a simple, elegant ground-level session or a magical dual-camera experience with an FPV drone, a pre-shoot does more than just provide a beautiful short film. It allows you to become comfortable in front of the lens and builds a genuine connection with our team. By the time your wedding day arrives, the cameras will feel entirely unobtrusive, allowing you to be your most authentic selves. The Final Polish: 1 to 3 Months BeforeAs the wedding approaches, the focus shifts from grand visions to precise logistics. You will finalize your guest list, confirm the catering menu, and have your final dress and suit fittings.
From a filmmaker's perspective, this is the most critical time to finalize your "Day-Of Timeline." When reviewing the schedule with your planner, we highly recommend auditing it for "breathing room." If your schedule dictates that you must transition from hair and makeup straight to the ceremony, and then immediately into family portraits, you will feel the pressure. Build in 20-minute buffers between every major event. Those quiet moments of transition are often when the most beautiful, unscripted cinematic magic happens. The Big Day: A Filmmaker’s TimelineWhen the day finally arrives, the timeline should no longer be your concern—that is what your planner and creative team are for. However, a well-structured day generally follows a natural rhythm.

If you are doing a "First Look," this should be scheduled with absolute privacy in mind, allowing you to share a raw, emotional moment before the ceremony begins.
Following the ceremony, the most crucial element for your cinematic film is "Golden Hour." This is the hour just before sunset when the Sri Lankan light becomes incredibly soft, warm, and romantic. We will steal you away for 30 to 45 minutes to capture your couple's portraits in this breathtaking light. Afterward, you return to your reception to dance, celebrate, and simply be present, knowing every memory is being expertly preserved.
